NOTICE OF THE PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND SUBSEQUENT PUBLIC HEARING

ORLANDO HOUSING AUTHORITY AMENDMENT MOVING TO WORK PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024/YEAR 13

APRIL 1, 2023 TO MARCH 31, 2024

The Orlando Housing Authority (OHA) is seeking to amend The Moving to Work (MTW) Fiscal Year (FY) 2024/Year 13 Plan that was submitted January 13, 2023. The Plan describes OHA's MTW Program activities designed to (1) increase self-sufficiency among families served, (2) reduce costs and achieve greater cost effectiveness in Federal expenditures, and (3) increase housing choices for low-income families. The Plan delineates implementation strategies and timeframes for proposed and approved activities and uses of MTW funds for the period of April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024. The Orlando Housing Authority amends the Plan to add an application to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for a Choice Neighborhoods Planning Grant to include one or more of the following public housing sites: Lorna Doone Apartments, Lake Mann Homes and Murchison Terrace Apartments.

The public comment period will begin Saturday, April 15, 2023 and end Sunday, May 14, 2023. OHA will conduct a public hearing, Monday, May 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the OHA's Administration Office 390 N. Bumby Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32803. The OHA's Board of Commissioners will receive verbal and/ or written comments on the Plan.

A copy of the Amendment of the MTW FY 2024/ Year 13 Plan will be available for review commencing Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the addresses listed below (10:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday). A copy of the Amendment Moving To Work Plan is also available on the OHA website.

There will be no in-person attendance at the hearing. Persons interested in participating in the public hearing via Microsoft Teams should call the OHA at 407.895.3300, ext. 1004 before 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2023. Public participation in the process is encouraged. All oral and/or written comments submitted by the close of the comment period will be considered. No comments will be considered after the close of the comment period.
