Minutes of the Board of Commissioners' Meeting
March 11, 2021

I. The monthly meeting was called to order at 2:01 p.m. by Chair Philpot.

II. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance
Commissioner Ping led the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.

III. Public Appearances - None

IV. Approval of Minutes from Meeting of January 14, 2021
A motion was made by Vice Chair Ping, seconded by Commissioner Roberts, and carried, that the board approve the January 14, 2021 minutes of the Board of Commissioners' meeting with the clarification on whether Commissioner Murphy was present at the meeting.  The Commissioners voted as follows:

V. Financial Report
Michael Simmons, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) thoroughly discussed the financial report of the Sanford Housing Authority (SHA). All questions asked by SHA Board members were discussed and answered.

VI. Resolutions

CONSENT AGENDA 

RESOLUTION NO: 2021-1 
AUTHORIZING AN INTERLOCAL AGREMEENT WITH THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF ORLANDO FLORIDA TO MANAGE ITS DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS INCLUDING PRE-DEVELOPMENT AND DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT

A motion was made by Commissioner Ping, seconded by Commissioner Murphy and carried, that the board approve the resolution number 2021-1 on the consent agenda of the Board of Commissioners' meeting. The Commissioners voted as follows:

NON-CONSENT AGENDA

VII. Discussion Items/Management Report
The management report was thoroughly discussed by Ayub Fleming. All questions by the SHA board were answered.

IX. New Business
The SHA Board requested that a nominal donation at the discretion of the Orlando Housing Authority be made from non-federal funds in remembrance of former City of Sanford Mayor, the Honorable Mayor Triplett. The donation will go to the American Cancer Society in former Mayor Triplett's name.
